Quotes to Ponder

An animal organism is an agglomeration of cells and interstitial fluids arranged in relation to one another not as an aggregate but as an integrated living whole. The system of relations by which these units ate related is the organic structure. As the terms are here used the organism is not itself the structure; it is a collection of unites (cells or molecules) arranged in a structure, i.e., in a set of relations; the organism has a structure. The structure is thus to be defined as a set of relations between entities. Over a period its constituent cells do not remain the same. But the structural arrangement of the constituent units does remain similar.

If I am not mistaken I can use this theoretical approach to a contemporary issue or problem by combining it with religion. Religion has expanded into different identities but was created with a purpose. The problem is when we treat others or we are treated by others not the same just because we share different beliefs. Most religions teach their followers to be kind, to be forgiving, morals that even though are implemented are not always followed by the one that preaches them. What I am trying to say is that even though religion is made up of different organism they each come back to someone wanting to change a belief and it evolved from there. A beginning of difference that now has become the norm of many who follow.

So for any sort of culture, society, or organization, we live as a whole structure but our individuals can always be changing. I guess I can relate this to politics in general. We have the two main political parties, democrats and republicans. Each party have certain views that they believe (For example, the majority of democrats believe the minimum wage should be raised) but there are some of those who go against this idea who are democrats as well. I guess you could say it is like a pattern of what people believe but it is one that works to form the structure that represents what a democrat is and was we think a republican is. I could be way off here but this is sort of what I came up with.

This theory can be applied to living at home. Every Saturday and Sunday we used to have family time and now that I am not living with them I try to make it a point to have some time with my roommates by making weekly dinners. After moving out this tradition kept on going even though I wasn’t at home and this shows this tradition kept going even though my obligation to it stopped.
